The most notable difference between European and American roulette is that the former has 37 slot numbers on its wheel. The numbers are between 0 and 36. The house edge is 2.7%. For example, if you were to spend $100 betting, the house will end up making $2.70 in profit. The house edge is doubled when you play the American version. Therefore, when you have the option between the two games choose the European version.

There is a rule in the European game that is not in its’ American counterpart. It is called the en prison rule. The rule can be put into effect when the ball lands on 9. The player can keep their wager in its entirety or surrender 50% of their wager. If the player wins after the next spin, they receive their entire wager back.

Europe roulette also uses chips of the same color. Persons must take special care and pay attention so that they know what numbers that they have wagered on. Some players may attempt to cheat and claim your wager or may accidently claim yours as their own.

There are some pretty major differences between European and American roulette. These differences affect the house edge and also what choices the players have. The European wheel has less slots and only one 0. The American version has a 0 and 00. Every player uses the same colored chips which can get confusing. Therefore, never take your eyes off of your wager or someone may claim it as their own.
