Types of Roulette Bets
There are a number of bets that roulette players can make. We will discuss a few of them below.
- Straight bet: The straight bet is made on a specific number. This bet pays 35 to 1.
- Split bet: This is a bet placed on the line between numbers. This bet pays 17 to 1
- Street bet: This is a bet that is placed on 3 numbers on the line outside of the layouts. This bet pays 11 to 1.
- Line bet, six numbers: This is a bet that is placed where the sideline and the line between two streets intersect. This bet pays 5 to 1.
- Line bet, five numbers: This bet may only be played on American tables. The chips are placed where the lines which separate the 1, 3 row as well as the 0 and 00 space intersects.
- Column Bet: The bet is placed at the bottom of the table’s layout in the blank space.
As you can see, there are number of bets that can be made in roulette. This is not a complete or exhaustive list. As you become more experienced and you began experiencing some success, you will be able to come up with your own “systems” and strategies that improve your odds of winning. Mostly, this will have to do with you placing bets that improve your chances of picking the winning number.
